This unique training is unlike anything available in the UK. It offers appropriate training to organisations that are challenged by difficult situations that can impact on staff safety. This training draws science and solutions from a breadth of behavioural psychology and psychiatric sciences and is delivered by qualified experts.
The maximum number of delegates for this course is 25. Course will be delivered virtually via Zoom.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for any staff and volunteers who deal with conflict management, manage difficult and threatening situations. Including those working with vulnerable service users in supported environments and those who may be exposed to challenging/hostile service-users.
What will you learn?
Through this course, you will:
- Better-manage difficult and hostile/challenging situations with effective communication styles that help to reduce conflict escalation and improve service-user/service-provider interactions.
- Improve your risk management.
- Fine-tune your awareness of risk and when to escalate your concerns to management by using the HCR-20 risk assessment tool.
- Improve your overview of situational hazards that may be identified in certain situations and service-user profiles by using dynamic risk assessments.
- Learn how to balance the duties to safeguard the wellbeing of service users vulnerable to mental disorder with health & safety duties to safeguard staff that support or lone work with service users.
