Join us for the Race Equality Youth Summit, hosted by West Midlands Young Combined Authority and Race Equalities Taskforce at Millennium Point, on Thursday 11 July 2024.
The Young Combined Authority is the WMCA Youth Advisory board, ensuring that young people’s voices are incorporated in our work. Following on from the hugely successful Mental Health Summit in 2023, this year, the YCA has partnered with the Race Equalities Taskforce to explore Race Equality in the West Midlands.
The event aims to bring young people across the West Midlands together in a space with local authority officers, voluntary sector colleagues, and industry professionals to explore ways to tackle race equality in the West Midlands.
We will have a marketplace where young people can learn more about the work happening in the space and how to get involved. They will also hear from keynote speakers who will share their own lived experiences of inequality and how they advocate for positive change. Then there will be youth-led workshops where young people can share their own experiences and insights and work towards solutions in addressing race inequality. These insights will then be gathered and help shape the work of the West Midlands Combined Authority.
